From Friendly Foods, pg 67.<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>corn oil<\/li>\n<li>2 cups chopped onions<\/li>\n<li>2 cups peppers (red, green, orange)<\/li>\n<li>minced garlic<\/li>\n<li>2 cups corn (fresh is nice, or frozen+steamed)<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp cumin<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp pepper (white if possible)<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp fresh chopped thyme<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp curry powder<\/li>\n<li>soup base (Vogue Vegy powder or bouillon cube)<\/li>\n<li>parsley for garnish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Steam the corn until mostly cooked, it should be soft and sweet (I used a nice steam appliance).\u00a0 Save a cup of liquid.<\/p>\n<p>Saute the onion,  pepper, and garlic for 5 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><center><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/thedigitalmachine.com\/images\/blog\/2009\/recipes\/seitan-kebobs-chowder-stew\/100_0722.jpg?w=656\" alt=\"\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Add the spices while simmering for another 5 minutes, then a third of the corn.<\/p>\n<p>Cook and blend the remaining corn with the reserved liquid.\u00a0 Blend to your liking &#8211; if you over-blend, you&#8217;ll lose that nice corn texture.\u00a0 Combine with the saute, and cook long enough just to heat it all up.<\/p>\n<p><center><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/thedigitalmachine.com\/images\/blog\/2009\/recipes\/seitan-kebobs-chowder-stew\/100_0731.jpg?w=656\" alt=\"\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Serve with a bit of the parsley garnish!
