Slash logs an &#8220;IPID&#8221; of all posters &#8211; it&#8217;s an MD5 hash of the actual IP.  That means that slash respects your privacy, and can&#8217;t actually identify you by IP (at least from the slash logs\/database entries), but at the same time, it can uniquely identify you and ban traffic from your IP if needed.
