Keep revisiting, keep believing... sigh...

Replace Ubuntu 22.04 snap with apt

  • Add Firefox PPA
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/ppa
  • "Prioritize apt over snap"
echo '
Package: *
Pin: release o=LP-PPA-mozillateam
Pin-Priority: 1001
' | sudo tee /etc/apt/preferences.d/mozilla-firefox
  • "Disable unattended snap updates of firefox"
echo 'Unattended-Upgrade::Allowed-Origins:: "LP-PPA-mozillateam:${distro_codename}";' | sudo tee /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/51unattended-upgrades-firefox
  • Switch it out
sudo snap remove firefox && sudo apt install firefox
