Synaptic driver (for trackpads etc)

See wallee and viper development/config/(wallee/viper)/ubuntu/etc/X11.. for good existing settings.

Copy them to your new machine settings and tweak.

Ubuntu 18.04

Try this:

Install the package xserver-xorg-input-libinput
Uninstall xserver-xorg-input-evdev
Uninstall xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
Reboot and see if things work better.
