Getting to Sourceforge from Windows through a proxy (redux)

In 10 seconds or less, using the boost project as an example…

  • Install WinCVS (yes even if you use the more-elegant TortoiseCVS)
  • Select Remote->Checkout Module…

    • WinCVS Checkout...

  • Fill in the dialog using the project’s Sourceforge CVS instructions and your proxy info. Example:
    :pserver;username=anonymous;hostname=boost.cvs.sourceforge.net;
    proxy=myproxy.com;proxyport=##:/cvsroot/boost

    • WinCVS Checkout Dialog

  • You can now use TortoiseCVS for updates. Whoop!

    • TortoiseCVS update
