Gimp Color Mapping

I cloned this site for my pop’s blog, and I had to change the colors in the rounded corners graphics. I needed to set the color outside the corners to the site’s background color, while colorizing the inside. Gimp once again made it a snap.

Get the “http” RGB colors for the before-and-after corner colors
Open the image, convert to RGB, select all
Colors->Map->Color Range Mapping
This is sweet – use beforecolor-to-white above, and aftercolor-to-white below.
Select the magic wand, and Ctrl-click in the corner to exclude only the solid corner color
I used Colors->Hue Saturation->Lighten to lighten everything but the corner (which had to match)

ImageMagick image stretch

convert -geometry 100x200! img1.png img2.png

The exclamation point allows the aspect ratio to be changed, and the resulting image will be exactly the specified size.

Python 2.4 to 2.5 requires python-updater

I wondered if FF3 was unmasked yet
Ran [eix firefox].
Found I was missing a FF2 bump.

Elogviewer should help you not to miss important information like: 

If you have just upgraded from an older version of python you
will need to run:
	/usr/sbin/python-updater

please do run it and restart elogviewer.

Blocked by fluxspace (which is nowhere in portage now).

Try [python-updater] again.

Finally started cleaning up the site’s theme…

It’s a little better. But I’m a little bored of it, I might go for another one of the plaintxt themes. Had to fight with CSS a little until I liked my UL and LI blocks. Cleaned up the sidebar so there are fewer posts. Move on…

UPDATE: AND… an upgrade to WordPress 2.6 broke me. Fixing now… ok, fixed by upgrading plugins, and following this (rather long!) fix… ooo look at how purdy the admin pages are now! :>

UPDATE UPDATE: AND… I’ve excluded chatter from the home page! This is SWEET. And simple – see this thread.

UPDATE^3: now WIDGETIZED, nice! I am determined to get a category tree working, too.
