Nearby downtown Apex does a really nice job during Christmas – they blocked off the roads and set up sleigh rides! With no snow on the ground, we had to opt for rubber wheels, but we did have horses – lots of them! And the girls’ horse instructor, Miss Deb, ran the show, so the girls got extra rides up in the front – thanks Miss Deb!
The downtown is decked out in splendor, and the many many fun shops, full of artsy trinkets and holiday smells, all throw their doors open for the night. Fun!
Why is the top of your head cropped off in every photo of you? You bald(ing) – no big deal. Quit acting like it is.
Reiley really looks like Andrea a lot. Mike is getting grey! Glad you guys had fun. Woohoo girls!
Michael,
Hi! Sorry I haven’t left a reply before now – I have been keeping up with your blogging though. I want you to know that you’re thought of and remembered in prayer . . . my church, LOJ (Lion of Judah) which is known in our community as the “praying church” has lifted you up in prayer, as well as your family, and will continue to do so . . .
I’ve seen pictures you’ve posted, how the girls have grown – I know you and Andrea couldn’t be prouder.
Continue on the road to complete recovery . . .
Blessings to you and your family!
I loved seeing the pictures of you and your daughters! Oh, how they have grown. Beautiful girls and proud Dad! Thinking of you!
Olly
Mike, Your Mom gave me your blog site and I was thrilled to see your bit on the sleigh ride. I am still in the process of reading all your stories. Some years ago I found a journal my Grandmother wrote when she was 13 and it is precious! She speaks of the sleigh rides and without “rubber wheels”…They would go out in the pitch black of the night and ride for miles andjust like youngsters, return in the wee hour of the morning and sneak up the steps to their bedrooms. Now tell me their Father and Mother did not hear them returning!!!!She spoke of hitching up the nag and all the snow on the ground and the crisp air and the jingle of the bells….neat stuff! Prayers continue for you and your family. May God Bless you this Christmas Season and the year ahead. Joyfully, The vonSeggern’s Zion Members
Saundra, sounds like your Grandmother had the real deal, the stuff we still dream about to this day. Wonderful story! :>
Hi Olly and Beth! I’ve been lucky to hear from all of you, all the wonderful people that have touched my life. :>
Mike…choir tonight and your parents are so upbeat about your prognosis. I know you have a long road ahead of you and the choir members continue to pray for you. Hopefully the next sessions of chemo will go well for you and your cancer will be reduced.Keep your chin up and LEAN ON HIM!
