This is hard to beat: the Carolina Brewing Company is virtually a stone’s-throw from the house, and they have free beer- err, “tours” – every Saturday. The beer doesn’t get any fresher or tastier.
I was confused by this coffee stout thing that Larry’s Beans and another brewery are doing, thinking it was Carolina Brewing Company. That was enough to tempt Larry and me into heading over this past Saturday. The mistake was a good one, and the free beer was tasty. The only problem is that we remember to do this too infrequently.
I brought home an Imperial Stout. Beer this fresh is just delicious. They only ever use 4 ingredients (tapwater, barley, hops, yeast). They pass around a jar of hops and a jar of barley to smell and taste. It’s just good stuff! :>
