Carcassonne: The Princess and the Dragon

I guess if you’re on your third expansion for a game, you’re officially a fan. Carcassonne came with the River expansion, and we added Inns and Cathedrals a year or two ago. This time around, we’ve added The Princess and the Dragon to the mix. All the expansions layer on top of the base game, and now it’s extended to a Hera-and-Zeus level of near chaos, which makes for an awesome game. We played until 1am last night (and I still biked to work, woop!).

  1. WOOT! I love the “Carcass One” game that you guys gave us for ChristX!! Bailey and I played the base version (sans rivers) in order to learn it and it was really fun. I kicked her 9 year old ASS! Now onto the Princess and Dragon add-on… and I didn’t even KNOW there was an Inns & Cathedrals – WOOT WOOT!!

Unfortuneately, Val doesn’t like “thinking” games. She prefers games like Go Fish, War, Bunco, etc. … basically any game that you can get up from for a few minutes to cook dinner or whatever, come back, and you haven’t really missed anything. Ah well, we can’t ALL have wives like Andrea…

  2. The whole crew played a game the other day, Wren wiped us out when she stole the city that Andrea had been working on the whole game. Of course my stealing Andrea’s knight from the city right before Wren’s turn didn’t hurt Wrenny’s chances any. Way to go Wren!
