Obama in the house

Andrea and I headed to Chapel Hill/Carrboro (what a great place) to hear Obama speak on the UNC campus.

cut the drama - vote obama

We headed out right from work at 5pm, and easily made the drive in under an hour. We had dinner at one of the three restaurants Heather recommended – the Mediterranean Deli won out over the Akai Hana (Japanese) and Lime & Basil (Thai) options, mainly because it was the easiest to find – we’ll be back for the others some day soon, I hope. I bought a hilarious “ACTION PHILOSOPHERS!” comic next door. Then we headed to UNC. It was a late night – Obama’s third stop on that day – and he didn’t make it on stage until around 10:30pm. By then we were running low on adrenaline, but it didn’t take much to pump us up. He (once again) hit the nail on the head, even if he did seem a bit tired. He talked about distractions (his pastor, lapel pins), rolling back tax breaks, global warming, McCain’s laughable gas price tax break, gave respect to Hillary, taking care of the middle class and poor instead of powerful corporate interests, and focused again on the fact that he will be the candidate to work for the most real change. We crawled back home and into bed by 2am, a good time.
